Classic Pilgrimages, in conjunction with Gate 1 Travel, operated our first Passion Play tours in 1984, the same year the 250th Anniversary of the first Passion Play performance was celebrated. We were a young company then and Passion Play tours were simply a special addition to our signature Holyland pilgrimages. However, the years 1990 and 2000 marked a giant step forward for our offering Passion Play tours. The year 2000, in particular, was our most prosperous year, as we operated nearly 150 groups with more than 5000 participants on several Passion Play itineraries. And though the 2010 schedule has yet to be finalized by the Passion Play 2010 Organizing Committee, Classic Pilgrimages has committed in advance more tickets and air seats for the upcoming 2010 performance. All indications say that interest for the first performance of the 21st Century will easily exceed that of our record breaking year in 2000.
We encourage all persons interested in group tours to contact us as soon as possible to register for our Priority Interest List. Space will be confirmed and distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. All of our packages will include 2 nights stay in the Oberammergau area. We will also have a limited number of 1 night packages available for customized itineraries only. Preliminary rates for those packages will be available in the Fall, 2007.
In addition to the five itineraries outlined below, Classic Pilgrimages will operate any customized itinerary for groups of 15 persons or more, as per groups' specifications. Please contact us with your ideas at your earliest convenience and we will be happy to design an individualized itinerary for you.
